Curtains of semi-precious stones

Curtains of semi-precious stones
Curtains of semi-precious stones

Curtains of satin grey pearls embroidered with amethysts and seed beads, evoking by their use of precious materials the refinement of the grand oriental embroideries or of the Renaisssance.

The decor, for its part contemporary, illustrates the resolutely timeless luxury of the embroidery.

Grand curtain with hemstitched geometrical decor.

The curtain is made up of suede panels joined together by a ‘ladder hem’ realised with cut strips of suede.

The sobriety of the embroidered decor, as well as its refinement remind us of the works of the great ensembliers of the 1930’s, who managed to connect architecture and decor while using sophisticated materials and techniques. This taste for detail in a certain sobriety is coherent with a contemporary vision of the decor.

This project was realised for the decorator Veta Stefanidou Touskala.

Inspired by the Decorative Arts, the decor in it's mechanical spirit and embroidered in gold and silver tubes, forming circles, is framed by two small borders embroidered in antique gold metallic thread.

These curtains were made for the American decorators Cullmann and Kravis.
